MICROBLADING FAQ

What is Microblading?

Mircoblading is a cosmetic tattooing procedure that fills in thin eyebrow areas to help make them look fuller. This is achieved by using a tiny scalpel-like blade to make hair-like incisions throughout the brow structure and then implanting those strokes with a complementary pigment. The process creates beautiful seemingly seamless full brows.

How Long Does Microblading Last?

Microblading, though a tattoo process is considered semi permanent, meaning it will fade over time, so a color refresh is recommended on average from 12-18 months after initial procedure in order to retain strokes.

How Often Do I Need Microblading Touch-Ups?

Your initial procedure will include a touch up appointment as part of the pricing and is done at 8 weeks post procedure (after brows are healed) the reason for this is to create a fuller brow and also to address any areas that may have not taken fully during the healing process. *Yearly color maintenance / refreshing touch ups will have a fee.

Does Microblading Hurt?

Before the process is performed you will be treated with a topical anesthetic to numb the area, once we have begun the procedure additional applications will be offered on a comfort basis. *Evoluer Microblading and PMU suggests holding back from using the numbing treatment if you can manage it, the results come out far more crisp and & heal so much better than if it is used.

How Long is the Healing / Recovery Time?

Everyone heals differently but on average healing takes about 7-10 days. Generally within the first two days your brows will begin to appear darker, this is natural, they will begin to soften and flake as they heal (don't worry this is natural) do not pick at them and simply let them go through the process of healing. Once your cosmetic tattoo has passed through this phase cosmetic tattoo should begin to sharpen back up and be as beautiful as when you initially had the service performed. *Proper aftercare plays a very big part in the outcome of your brows; follow the instructions you will be given in your welcome packet closely during the entire healing process.

How Does My Technician Choose the Shape of My Brows?

Shape and style are customized for you individually through a mapping process that involves using your bone structure as a guide, measurements will then be used to make them as symmetrical as possible. The final decisions about the positioning of your brows is something we will do together. Evoluer Microblading and PMU technicians will not start the blading process without first being assured of your comfort and confidence in the shape chosen for you.

How Does My Technician Choose a Color?

You and your technician will also make this choice together. This is done by simply placing pigment swatches on your skin close to the brows to see what one compliments your skin tone and natural brow hair best. *if you tint your brows regularly you MUST tint them 2-3 days prior to your appointment. Remember, when choosing your color - it is likely to fade up to 50% following your first visit.

What Type of Pigment My Technician Use?

The pigments used are made specifically for permanent cosmetic application and microblading, there are a few different brands Evoluer Microblading and PMU recommends - which all contain iron oxides, alcohol, glycerin, distilled water and basic colors found in all retail makeup. All technicians at Evoluer Microblading and PMU take pride in their work. We only use brands we are confident in. You are welcome to research any pigments we may use, just simply ask before your appointment and we will provide you a list.
